I don’t like to make disparaging comments about the village where I’ve lived for the past 24 years, but this couple, whom I know well, are having trouble with the home they renovated so lovingly and beautifully a good few years ago. They ran a very successful bed and breakfast business (at one time Number 17 on the TripAdvisor site for B&Bs in Spain, where there is a lot of competition!) in an idyllic spot at the edge of the largest cork forest in Europe. They decided to go back to Scotland for family reasons, which is when they came across the stupidity of Spanish bureaucracy, where the local Council is trying to apply today’s laws to a situation of many years ago, when no law was applied. Please read the article and pass it on to anyone you like. The more people knowing that building laws in Spain are still in total chaos. Your help will be appreciated.
